I’m a therapist with a background in Counselling Psychology and for the last 12 years I have been working with families, children and teenagers, working for local authorities, NHS and the private sector. Since 2008 I have been working as a Multisystemic therapist, working with families where young people displayed behavioural problems (aggression and anger problems, drug use, running away from home, being arrested, school refusal) and emotional problems (depression and self-harm, social and school anxiety, panic attacks), helping parents manage and deal with their children behaviours, so families could lead happier, more harmonious lives. Also I have experience in running parenting groups and training various professional (school staff, social workers, mental health working) in dealing with children’s issues.
My interests are young people with behavioural problems (issues like ODD – oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD – attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and CD – conduct disorder) and emotional issues (like depression and anxiety), although in real life often we find behavioural issues mixed with emotional problems, In my work I use a behavioural approach (Behavioural Therapy) with elements from systemic family therapies, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), when working with either young people individually, with whole families or just with parents.
